There are a lot of things you can do on the Windows 10 taskbar: Place the apps you use most often, change the color and size, move the taskbar to a new location, organize the icon, lock taskbar, hide taskbar automatically, show notification and more.
How to pin application to taskbar in Windows 10
Go to Start, find the app you want to pin to the taskbar. Or
Go to the Windows search bar, type the name of the app you want to pin to the taskbar.
Right-click the app, select More, and then select Pin to taskbar.
An easy way to pin an app to the taskbar is to find the app you want to pin to the taskbar, then drag the app‘s icon with the mouse to the taskbar.
How to unpin application from Windows 10 taskbar
Go to Start, find the application you want to unpin from the taskbar. Or
Go to the Windows search bar, type the name of the application you want to unpin from the taskbar.
Right-click on the application, select More, then select Unpin from taskbar.
The easiest way to unpin an application from the taskbar is to right-click on application’s icon on the taskbar, and then click unpin from taskbar.
How to change taskbar color on Windows 10
Everyone has their favorite, which is why Microsoft is adding new features and making it easy to change colors almost anywhere on their operating system, including changing taskbar color in Windows 10.
Click on Start and select Settings or press Windows key + i to access the settings app.
In the Windows Settings window, click Personalization.
On the left side, choose Colors.
In “Windows colors” the color palette, choose the desired color from the taskbar. If you don’t see the color you want, click on the Custom color to create the color.
Scroll down to find the “Show accent color on the following surfaces” section, check “Start, taskbar, and action center”.
You should now see the new color on your Windows 10 taskbar.
How to lock taskbar on Windows 10
Many people prefer the Windows taskbar to stay in a specific location. Like me, I like to see my Windows taskbar in the same place. For this, I always leave my taskbar locked.
Windows 10 makes it easy to lock the taskbar, and you can unlock the taskbar whenever you want to change their location. To lock the Windows 10 taskbar, navigate to an empty space on the taskbar, right-click, and select Lock the Taskbar.
If you see a checkmark before “Lock the Taskbar”, it’s already lock.
How to unlock Windows 10 taskbar
Go to an empty space on the taskbar, right-click, and select Lock the Taskbar.
When the taskbar is not locked, you will not see a check mark before “Lock the taskbar”.
How to lock or unlock Windows 10 taskbar using settings
If you cannot access the taskbar menu, follow the step below.
Right-click on Start, then select Settings. Or
You can also access the Windows 10 settings by pressing Windows and i keys at the same time.
In the Windows 10 Settings window, click Personalization.
On the left side of the screen, select Taskbar.
To enable lock taskbar, turn ON the switch “Lock the Taskbar”.
To disable lock taskbar, turn OFF the switch “Lock the Taskbar”.
How to move taskbar on Windows
By default, the Windows taskbar is located at the bottom of the screen but you can also move it to the top, right or the left of the screen. Before trying to move the taskbar, you need to make sure that the taskbar is not lock. To move the taskbar, click in an empty area on the taskbar, hold the click, then drag the taskbar to the location you want the Windows 10 taskbar to be.

You can also right click on an empty area on the Windows taskbar, then select Taskbar settings.
In the Windows 10 Settings window, find “Taskbar location on screen”, then select the location you want to place the taskbar.
In the drop-down menu, you have the choice to move the taskbar to Bottom, Top, Left, Right.
Select Bottom to place the taskbar at the bottom of your screen.
When you are done, close the settings window.
How to display battery status on taskbar

To remove the battery status from the taskbar, turn OFF the switch next to the Power.
When you are done, close the settings window.
To show the Local Area Network (LAN) status and WIFI status in the taskbar, turn ON the switch next to the Network. Or
To remove the Local Area Network (LAN) status and WIFI status from the taskbar, turn OFF the switch next to the Network.
To show the Meet Now in the taskbar, turn ON the switch next to the Meet Now. Or
To remove the Meet Now in the taskbar, turn OFF the switch next to the Meet Now.
To show Windows Update Status in the taskbar, turn ON the switch next to the Windows Update Status. Or
To remove Windows Update Status from the taskbar, turn OFF the switch next to the Windows Update Status.
To show Windows Explorer (Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media) in the taskbar, turn on the switch next to the Windows Explorer. Or
To remove Windows Explorer (Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media) from the taskbar, turn OFF the switch next to the Windows Explorer.
To display all icons, turn on the “Always show all icons in the notification area”.
How to rearrange icons on Taskbar
Arrange your icons on the Windows 10 taskbar to reflect the order you want to see. To do that, choose the icon you want to move to another position, click on it, and then drag it to the new location.
