On the Windows command prompt, enter the folder that contains the executable officec2rclient.exe by typing the command below and press enter.

cd C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun

Close all open Microsoft Office applications then type the following command and press Enter.

officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.12827.20470


Note: If you are unable to roll back to the version 16.0.12827.20470 try version 16.0.12527.20880
officec2rclient.exe /update user updatetoversion=16.0.12527.20880


How to open Microsoft Outlook in safe mode

Press and hold Ctrl key and click on the Microsoft Outlook icon
Or
Hold down the Windows key, Press R on your keyboard and Type:
OUTLOOK.EXE /safe
Press OK
