How many times do you want to know the product key that came with your Windows 10 computer, but you can’t find it anywhere in the operating system or on the computer case.
Today I am going to show you an easy way to find the original product key in Windows 10 computer. The easiest way I have found to view Windows 10 product keys is to use the Windows command prompt; But to simplify the process, you can create a batch file to view Windows 10 product keys with one click.
Go anywhere on your desktop computer or in Windows Explorer.
Right click on an empty space, then select new and click “Text Document”
Now, you will see a new text file in your current directory.
To open the text file you just created, double-click on it.
Type the below commands in the text file.
wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey
Pause
When you’re done writing the commands, save the file and close the text editor.
Thing to know, you don’t need the command pause to find windows 10 product key using command prompt. In fact, it’s there to force command prompt to stay open.
Now change the txt file extension to bat.
To change the file extension, do two or three separate clicks on the file you want to change the extension or right click on it and choose Rename.
I also wrote “How to change file extensions in Windows 10“, useful post if you need help viewing and changing the extension of a file in Windows 10.
Double click on the file to open it and to see your original Windows 10 product key on your screen.
